Operation Christmas Child, Hundreds of Pounds of Candy, and Best in Show?

Olivia's Update!

Hello all! The past few weeks have been full of volunteering and service, and it's all very exciting! I've done an exciting amount of speaking, giving my Daughters & Sons of the Heavenly Father talk to students from Holy Family and giving a pro-life 101 talk to Sacred Heart students. I've been working on Project SDG360, and I'm working hard to spread the word about November's project: Operation Christmas Child. The deadline is November 17th! I'm running a drive for Operation Christmas Child and collecting boxes from local families at Sacred Heart and at St. Joes. In a nutshell, OCC invites families to pack shoe boxes with toys, school supplies, and toiletries to be sent overseas to children in need. It's a Christian organization, and there's beautiful testimonies from teens and young adults about the joy they remember from when they received a box as a child. I read one testimony this morning from a young woman who recalls that she received dental floss in her box, but had never seen it before and was confused at the minty white thread!

Please consider helping to brighten a child's Christmas and packing a box. It's a simple and quick project, but makes a true impact. Here's my flyer with all of the information on how to pack a box and how to get it to me! Don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions or for me to come and get the boxes elsewhere.

I'm also working on wrapping up the Sacred Heart annual Halloween Candy Drive for Care Cod Cares for Our Troops. In past years we've collected over 300 pounds of candy! We're planning on weighing the candy and finish packing it this week. I'm excited to see how much we raised this year!

I'm also very honored to say that I was in the Young at Art show in the Annual Juried Show at the Plymouth Art Guild (for my sixth year!) and I was awarded a third place in my age group and Best in Show. I'm so thankful and excited that both Purple Path and Cardinal Seán's portrait won!

These have been an exciting past few weeks! Thank you to everyone who's been a part of them!

God bless,
